Simplifying Returns: How aeropost Has Your Back for International Purchases

That’s why we’ve designed our Return Service to help you manage returns easily and confidently. Wondering how easy it can be? Let’s break down our process for you!

What is aeropost's Return Service?

Our Return Service is here to make international returns straightforward and hassle-free. This service, available only for items shipped through aeropost, allows you to return products purchased internationally through our Miami Processing Service. aeropost covers costs associated with transportation, customs processing, and import duties up to USD $10,000, based on the item’s declared value at the time of pre-alert or documentation provided for customs processing.

To get started, all you need is a Merchandise Return Authorization (RMA) from your supplier. This simple document is the key to initiating your return and ensures that you’re covered.

What’s the Process for Returning an International Parcel?

We know that returning an item should be straightforward. Here’s how you can make it happen:

  • Get Your RMA: Reach out to your supplier to obtain an RMA that’s valid for at least 15 business days. If they can provide a return label, even better! If the supplier does not provide a return label, the responsibility for shipping costs falls to the customer.
  • Complete Necessary Forms: Fill out the U.S. Postal Service Form 1583, which is provided by the aeropost agent or can be downloaded from your aeropost account, you only have to log in and go to the “Account” section. Once on your Account, scroll down to Documents and download the 1583 File.
  • Identification: Supply a valid government-issued photo ID.
  • Prepare for Return: With everything in hand, return your package to the nearest experience center. If you need information about whether your package can be returned, you can reach out to our Customer Service Team, who’ll help confirm if you can return your package with us!
Once you’ve gathered everything, we’ll verify your return with customs records. If all checks out, we’ll move forward with your return. If there are any issues, we’ll get in touch to help you sort it out.

What Our Return Service Covers

Our Return Service has you covered in several scenarios:

  • Returning to the Supplier: Your item will be returned to the original supplier’s address through aeropost, ensuring safe transit.
  • Lost Shipments Before Miami Delivery: If your merchant’s delivery company certifies that a package was sent to 1 aeropost Way + (Customer account number), Miami FL 33206 but never arrived, the Return Service has you covered.
  • Lost Shipments in Miami: If your shipment is confirmed as lost after it reaches aeropost’s Miami warehouse and is logged into our system, we will cover the verified value of the lost items.
  • Valuation Checks: Imports are valued based on the invoice provided at the pre-alert. In case of missing invoices, we can’t cover customs overvaluations, so it’s best to ensure all documentation is in place!

Important Conditions and Exclusions

There are some exclusions and conditions to be aware of with the aeropost Return Service:

  • Applicable Only for aeropost Shipments: The Return Service applies exclusively to packages shipped through aeropost to our Miami address: 1 aeropost Way + (customer account number), Miami FL 33206. If a package is mistakenly delivered to a different address, whether due to a customer or carrier error, we won’t be able to cover it. To keep things simple and stress-free, just remember to double-check the address before shipping!
  • Exclusions: Certain items, such as stamps, jewelry, perishable goods, and firearms, are excluded from the Return Service. For a complete list, you can contact our customer service team or check the restricted items section of our website.
  • Damaged or incomplete Packages: Claims for damaged or incomplete packages should be made within 10 business days after:

    • Delivered to the Customer in an aeropost Experience Center (Package Status: Ready for Pickup)
    • Ready for Pickup in aeropost Smart Locker.
    • To Be Delivered via Delivery Route, either at home or office (Package Status: First Attempt).
    • Stored in Warehouse: Pending Payment for Delivery.
For lost, damaged, or incomplete packages, you can make the claim through any Customer Service channel.

Where Can You Return Your Merchandise?

No matter where you received your package—at an aeropost Experience Center, via home delivery, or through our Smart Lockers —returns must be processed at one of our Experience Centers. This way, we can streamline the process for you. And if you’re returning automotive parts, make sure they’re clean and free of grease!

Navigating Warranties with Ease

If your return leads to a replacement item from the seller, just a quick reminder: you’ll be responsible for any duties and charges associated with your package as if it were a new shipment. Plus, you’ll need to provide an invoice with the actual value of the new product, since customs won’t accept zero-value imports.

Refunds

We’ll process your Returns Service refund through your original payment method or credit it directly to your aeropost account. It’s all about making things smooth and convenient!
