Save time and money by understanding the difference between "prohibited products" and "restricted products."
While these terms may sound similar, they have different meanings and implications. Prohibited products cannot be imported under any circumstances because they are dangerous, illegal, or pose health, safety, or environmental risks. On the other hand, restricted products are not completely banned but must comply with additional regulations to be imported. These products are subject to stricter inspections and may require special packaging, permits, or other additional documentation.
Restricted products are items considered dangerous for air transport that need special handling and packaging, or they are goods restricted by customs that require special permits to enter the country. Both can be transported if they meet additional regulations and are subject to stricter inspections.

Prohibited products are any items that are not allowed to be shipped under any circumstances, whether due to air transport bans or restrictions imposed by Chilean legislation.
The list of products prohibited by Aeropost and subject to legal restrictions is extensive. While not exhaustive, these items include but are not limited to:
Please do not send these products to your Miami address as they cannot be transported, and you will have to bear the costs of destruction or return to the supplier.
This decision is a result of Aeropost policy, following full consideration of operational, legal, and risk management implications. If you have questions about a product not on this list, you can write to us at apchile@aeropost.com or check the customs page here
Aeropost has the right to open and inspect the contents of a shipment under the following circumstances:
Aeropost does not provide insurance or liability coverage for shipments containing any items on its prohibited products list. If the restricted or prohibited item is discovered by our logistics operators, they may refuse to transport the package without the option of a refund.
If the items are discovered during normal or customs checks during transit, the goods may be destroyed or returned to the sender. When this occurs, Aeropost will contact you to inform you of the next steps.
Therefore, we strongly advise against providing inaccurate information or intentionally undervaluing your products to avoid taxes. If detected, your shipment will be held by customs officers, and you risk facing penalties for shipping prohibited items.
